What is the Trans-Atlantic Cup?

The Trans-Atlantic Cup (The “TAC”) is a unique Ryder Cup style golf event among the masses who play the game respectively in each of the countries involved in the actual Ryder Cup.  The end-result is a similar structure to the actual Ryder Cup with two teams of twelve (12) players (24 golfers in total), one team representing the USA and the second for the UK/Europe.*

Why are we conducting the Trans-Atlantic Cup?

While this has an air of competition, the true nature of this event is in the spirit of charity…supporting men’s health and the respective prostate cancer causes by:

a) Funding research ultimately to save lives,

b) Building awareness for the disease along with the charity organizations involved, and

c) Developing long-term relationships and camaraderie among everyone involved.

Who can, and How do golfers play in the Trans-Atlantic Cup?

Any golfer, male or female, of any age, with an established handicap through the Royal and Ancient (R&A) or the United States Golf Association (USGA) respective to the country they represent by qualifying for a spot on either team.

Here in the US, each participating golfer would register their information and pay a nominal $10 entry fee (donation) to PCF and submit their score.  Any player can attempt to qualify for multiple rounds of golf and re-register (additional contribution).

Scores entered are taken as official scores, validated by the USGA/R&A. Those lowest scores posted from the twelve (12) different individual golfers in each respective country (USA or UK/Europe) will qualify for each of those two teams.
